Why does cellulite celebrities grab our attention? The idea that celebrities, these picture-perfect-people, might be a bit more ordinary and flawed than we imagined, is an eye-opener. And what beautiful women have officially gone on the record or been recorded at an uncomplimentary angle? The list of
Cellulite Celebrities caught with some less-than-picture-perfect flesh showing include:
Paris Hilton (NO!... check out the video below if you don't believe me)
and of course, the recently self-admitted cellulite sufferer, Kim Kardashian.
I really have to hand it to
Kim Kardashian, she wanted people to realize that even those who appear perfect
on the covers of magazines, have flaws too. She supported posting on the
internet both the untouched and touched-up versions of recent photos to show that
yes, she has cellulite. Note that not only is Kim's thigh completely smooth and cellulite-free
in the after photo (on right), but her waist has been narrowed by photo editing.
Now don't get me wrong, we aren't saying these women aren't beautiful and hot, just that cellulite strikes celebrities, stars, and every day working-girls alike.
Updated August 13, 2009 - Okay, I originally found the celebrities-with-cellulite topic kind of eye-opening. Especially with Kim Kardashian revealing exactly what the "touch-up" photo-editing stage was changing. But, I don't think this is the sort of thing major publications ought to be covering, like the National Enquirer issue shown below.
Now, I know the National Enquirer is generally-considered to be kind of a sleazy publication, but it concerns me that this is what they think people want to see. And I don't like the tone taken, almost like these women should be ashamed of themselves. No, no, no…. being imperfect is what makes us human. We're not Barbie dolls. Or as one blog commenter said, "'we should all be so lucky to look that "hideous".'
If you want to get rid of cellulite, that's okay. If you don't or have some left, THAT'S OKAY too.
